Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 28, 2026

Introduction

TrustBuilder ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our trust document generation service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

We prioritize privacy and minimize data collection. Because we process sensitive legal and financial information, we have designed the Service to handle most data processing locally in your browser.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use our trust document generation tool, you provide personal and sensitive information that may include:

  • Personal identifiers (names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers)
  • Contact information (email addresses, phone numbers)
  • Family information (beneficiaries, trustees, dependents)
  • Financial information (asset descriptions, account information)
  • Legal information (state of residence, marital status)

This information is processed locally in your browser to generate documents. For convenience, your in-progress data may be stored in your browser's local storage on your device only. We do not routinely transmit this information to our servers unless you explicitly use features that require server interaction.

Automatically Collected Information

When you access the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device information (browser type, operating system, device identifiers)
  • Usage data (pages viewed, features used, time spent, clickstream data)
  • IP addresses and general location information
  • Log data (access times, error logs, performance data)

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, remember preferences, and analyze Service usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect Service functionality.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • To generate trust documents based on your input
  • To save your in-progress work in local browser storage
  • To improve and personalize your experience
  • To analyze usage patterns and optimize Service performance
  • To communicate with you about the Service, updates, and support
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and security threats
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use

We do not use your trust form data (names, assets, beneficiaries) for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Service to you.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf (hosting, analytics, customer support). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, subpoena, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when you explicitly authorize us to do so.

Blog and Public Content

Blog posts submitted through our publishing webhook may be stored on our servers for public display on the blog. This content is intended for publication and should not contain sensitive personal data, trust information, or confidential details. Published content is publicly accessible and may be indexed by search engines.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure browser-based local storage for sensitive trust data
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication mechanisms
  • Monitoring for suspicious activity and security incidents

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and browser.

Data Retention

Trust form data stored in your browser's local storage remains on your device until you clear it using in-app reset options or browser settings. We retain automatically collected usage and technical data for as long as necessary to operate the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, typically no longer than 24 months unless required by law.

Published blog content is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing communications and certain data collection practices.
  • Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, contact us through the support channel listed on our website. You can clear locally stored form data at any time by using in-app reset options or by clearing your browser storage for this site.

California Residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have additional rights including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

European Residents: Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have data protection laws different from your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We take steps to ensure your information receives adequate protection wherever it is processed.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers support "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. The Service does not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no industry-wide standard for how to interpret them.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulatory authorities as required by law. We will provide information about the breach, the types of information affected, and steps you can take to protect yourself.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by posting a prominent notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us through the official support channel listed on our website. We will respond to your inquiry within a reasonable timeframe.
